Bio

Celia Judge maintains studios in MA and NH and has been painting and teaching for twenty years. Her works have been purchased by collectors across the United States and in Europe and she is the recipient of numerous artistic awards. Among these awards are the prestegious Yankee Sagendorph Award of the Copley Society, as well as awards from the Wellesley Society of Artists, Arts Wayland, and Watertown Art Association.

Ms. Judge has studied privately with a number of distinguished painters. She has studied oil landscapes, portaiture and still life with Boston painters Robert Cormier and Robert Douglas Hunter and with George Dergalis. She has also studied watercolor and pastel with Joseph Santoro, Ruth Winn, Marian Parry and Dorthea Anderson.

At her Charles Street studio, Ms. Judge teaches adult drawing and painting. Her students learn - in a variety of mediums - to develope a strong sense of self on canvas. This is a natural extension of her own ability to communicate through painting. "For me, painting is an exhilarating way to express my sense of unity with nature. By experiencing, recording and communicating my feelings and my visions, especially of my life in New England, I feel centered and connected. Painting is a sensual experience for me and I love to paint because I love to be."
