Born in Lima and undertaking a Degree in Fine Arts at the University of Peru, Efrain has staged numerous one man shows at the Praxis Gallery, Lima (1994-2000) and participated in group shows in New York, Rio de Janeiro, Burgos in Spain and at the Regional Art Gallery in Aosta, Italy where he is now based.
To date, Efrain has enjoyed an extensive and successful career, partaking in numerous Contemporary Peruvian Painting Exhibitions worldwide. In 1995, Efrain was selected as Peruvian Representative at the Contemporary Art in not Aligned Countries in Jakarta, Indonesia, and the following year was invited to show in The March of Dimes – Unity and Diversity, Art of Africa and the Americas at the Sony Plaza Building, New York. Efrain Vidal’s work features in the permanent collection of the Banco Central de Reserva in Lima, as well as in Jakarta’s Museum of Contemporary Art collection, Indonesia.
In 2002 he had his first exhibition in the UK. It showcased Efrain Vidal’s eclectic works on canvas – abstract interiors and still-lifes rendered in evocative, lazy summer hues.
