Featured Artist: Heather Duncan

Bio

Heather is 28 years old and originally from Little Rock, AR. She's been living in Florida for 5 years now. She originaly went to school majoring art at Arkansas State University, but finished school in Fashion Design at the University of Delaware. She is currently a studio artist for RFA at their headquarters in Boca Raton, FL.

Artist Interview: Heather Duncan

Keith Daulton: Why did you choose to become a painter?
Heather Duncan: I've enjoyed painting and drawing for as long as I can remember. One of my first recollections of me drawing was when I was in first grade. I was using crayons to draw petite little flowers and then connected them with spiraling green vines.

KD: What kind of art do you enjoy and what kind do you do?
HD: I find art everywhere. I enjoy the simple aspects of what makes up a painting: great light, nice lines, and interesting texture. It's the way light hits the leaves of a tree. It's in the design that is made when you accidentaly spill some paint. There is art in life everywhere, therefore, life is art. Most of what I paint is abstract, but I also paint florals and still-lifes. I like giving them great textures and lines too.

KD: Who are your favorite artists?
HD: I can't keep with one style of art because I enjoy so many just like I don't think I could pick a favorite artist, I like so many of them too.
